The Journey

2020

Hiiii! I’m back from Baja and wanted to share my experience at my Kundalini teacher training. I blew out of town for 5 weeks 4 were my training. I knew it would be challenging and it was. I thought Id be swimming and lounging more but it wasn’t exactly like that. I was up at 5 am - 6 pm almost every day. I left Dec 30th 2019 wanting a restart, a renew, some positive vibes, nature, new healthy habits and I got it plus a lot more . I was nervous to be in a new group and I was questioning if people would like me. I realized so much and a month in a tent on the beach was one of the most epic adventures of my life.

The discipline of this course was INTENSE the teachers were amazing. Kundalini is the yoga of AWARENESS. Long story short: its like all yoga in one. Poses, mantra, mudras, breath work, and meditation. Its uncomfortable using your body to its fullest doing all those things at once.

It’s HARD, its demanding, and takes a lot of effort. INSIDE the effort is where the subconscious unloads… you think, think, think, chatter, chatter, chatter and at some point it stops and you are experiencing just you. It turns emotion into devotion. It allows you to be your higher self. You take up space, you take altitude to change your attitude. Its the attention to self that you have been looking for. You have to do kundalini to experience it. While I was there NO MEAT, No ALCOHOL, Vegetarian DIET, wake up and sleep under the starts and crickets and cow bells, birds… and beach waves. I was in rhythm with the elements. Every day I woke up and walked up a mountain with my friend Erin with my hot water sipping it at the top watching whales out on the horizon laughing and talking.

Baja is beautiful and there is a magic there. Breakfast was outside and in silence , although Erin and I would sneak away and literally do comedy every day. I knew I was funny lol and she was too, we are gonna create a podcast and see if it translates as funny as we think we are. Oh lordy.

The food was epic and the outdoor showers were too. I love me a cold plunge but I can’t seem to get into cold showers. I need heat afterwards.

I did body brush everyday and put In Fiore Firmante leg tonic on every day. We sat ALOT and I didn’t enjoy that.. but the leg tonic and dry skin brush were saviors. I used Chuck and Sams CBD balm am and pm on my face and to this day I’m floored at how amazing it is. Otherwise I washed my face with Arcona Raspberry Bar and used Dr. Alkaitis Soothing Gel with Marie Veroniques Vit C serum am+pm. No blowdryers. I had just gotten bangs from Sarah at Makers and Dreamers in SF and was now letting my hair air dry… MY CURLY BANGS AND HAIR appeared and I loved them!

I always bring a little perfume… I know its terrible but I just love my perfume.

One thing that occurred to me on this trip is I am who I am.. I always thought I’m impatient, have anxiety, blah blah blah…. but one month doing the clean work in Baja… I had those things still but a lot less and realized its JUST me…. and its not some weird thing. That was refreshing.

We had a group of 17 and about 7 teachers supporting us.

Im back and creating what my rhythm is here in the city. many have asked if it was shocking to be back from such a peaceful trip. Luckily i took extra time after to just NOT BE in class… and i started my 40 day Saddhana right away. Im doing the Healthy Bowel set and prosperity meditation. i chose this set first because its like 30 minutes second the bowels are where your health lies… and prosperity … well that’s obvious. I do get very overwhelmed around big crowds… but if i am going out ill wear a hat and sunglasses to limit my sensory journey. I chose learning about Kundalini because it has the potential to make you feel amazing energetically.

I massage and give facials all week and get depleted easily. I have always been an advocate of taking care of yourself so you can be a strong person. So on my days off I do all i can to recover and rest.

That includes:

doing yoga

cooking healthy meals

drinking lots of water

Journalling

getting outside

listening to amazing music

possible dancing at home

Kundalini and breath work

I am so expanded at the moment and am so grateful I have Aloeswood Beauty and all of you to share time with when you come in. Every day is magical. I am currently trying to lock down a place to teach my Kundalini Skin+Body workshops. It’s the perfect thing for what’s next for me. I love teaching anatomy and physiology but I am terrible at teaching Hatha Vinyasa its just too complicated for me:) Kundalini is my jam and I love that the Kriyas are all set up for me and they each relate to the whole body. I wanted to create something that was fun, had some energetic movement and education on self care. It’s all about the work it takes to get that inner glow. Facials do ALOT for the glow but the work is on the other stuff too. Every thought is energy.

“Make yourself so happy so when others look at you they become happy too”

Yogi Bhajan

Thank you for listening and lets all make the most magical journey to our true self

Many many blessings,

Christy
