Lively weekend in Big Surprise I mean Big Sur

LIFE

It has been 4 years since I opened Aloeswood Beauty and many of you know I love what I do but I love vacations as well. I have never been to Big Sur and this weekend my dear friend was married there. As with every day off or mini vacation I anticipate everything about it. I didn’t realize Big Sur is named after #1 A RIVER #2 I thought it was a town not a highway with stops along the way. I was honestly shocked. The California coast is gorgeous, just gorgeous. I do worry a bit while driving it as I have had MANY dreams of flying off a cliff in a car. It was the most beautiful house they rented to get married at. Staring out onto the big blue ocean as the sun shines and sets is incredible. Me and my man went on a hike the next day to Rooster Rock and this is where this picture is from. It was lovely hike and I didn’t get angry going uphill:) I can’t even tell you how much I love the smell of fresh air. It reminds me of Alaska right before Winter sets in. It was a very relaxing couple days and I had zero internet which was lovely as well. I have a few fun things coming up this Winter and one of them is a month long Kundalini Teacher Training in Baja, Mexico. I have been planning this for 2+ years and its happening in January. 1 month away. A whole month. I know it seems like a lot to just ditch work for a month. If anyone can try and make it happen I can. I have never been on a retreat, and never gone for month. What I do know is my clients and I have a symbiotic relationship and my well being is important, just as theirs is. I want to experience what its like to be off grid/ doing Kundi/ eating fresh food/ on the beach/etc. I have been terrified to teach yoga, after teaching and having students walk out of my class cause it wasn’t hard enough and my actual yoga teacher said it wasn’t my calling, BUT I think I could again and add the brilliant practice of Kundalini to the flowy/ mellow /restorative vibes I throw out. I enjoy teaching in general but want to create my own thing. I not only want y’all to get great facials and skincare I want to teach everyone how to get that glow from breathwork. To me Kundalini is a miracle. Its a little weird and repetitive but that’s where the magic is. You leave feeling very uplifted and different. Ill explain better after I learn more. It is experiential. So i’m leaving for a month to get my creative juices flowing to bring a higher level of knowledge to me and my clients. My goal with Kundi is to hold AMAZING workshops that incorporate a touch of everything I know about healing the body. The problem is I need to practice it myself and a month long booster start is what I am feeling I need. I am a bit scared to tell the truth. Im scared to get on the plane in the morning knowing I will be gone for a month, alone. I am also so dang excited for the growth spurt. Aloeswood is a dream come true, many of you would hear me talking about it before any of this and I am so happy to go to work and give bodywork and facials to all of you from my own amazing space.

About the same time this dream of becoming a Kundalini teacher was happening I applied for an appointment with the Italian Consulate here in SF to become an Italian Citizen. Right before I fly to Baja I have my appointment and they decide if I "qualify” Its a reawakening of sorts for me and I couldn’t be more ready. So with that, all of you who have been inspired to do the thing that’s calling you. I am here to cheer you on! Happiness is a wonderful gift to give yourself.
